A trip to Bangkok

One of the most popular destinations to visit in Asia in recent years has been in Thailand. This course has also coincided with the booming popularity of Thai cuisine around the world. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is the main entry point where the vast majority of tourists to Thailand will use.

Bangkok is a very interesting city because in addition to the usual modern buildings of offices, hotels and shopping malls, there are also about 400 exotic Thai temples that seem to hold good among the urban landscape. There are Thai citizens in the streets dressed in work clothes and modern, as well as Buddhist monks in saffron robes. Yet this is part of Thailand. Mixing traditional and modern. In fact, it's the traditional attractions that make Thailand so magical. The temples are sites that you can not see in the world West. They are like objects coming out of a fairy tale for Asia.

Like many other large Asian cities, Bangkok is congested by traffic, people and pollution. In fact, the air can be bad enough that people are wearing surgical masks in the streets. With a temperature average of 28 degrees Celsius or 83 degrees Fahrenheit, it may be a bit uncomfortable outside of a few tourists, especially those in northern climates. Beware also there will be people in the street who will try to hustle tourists and direct them to their own business and sightseeing. But unlike other places in Caribbean, Thais are polite and not aggressive people. For example, once arrived at the international airport, there will be people within the terminal, including those on the stands that will offer transportation by taxi to your hotel. Although these are legitimate, they will charge a premium compared to Taxis outside the terminal. There is a similar situation in the hotels. The taxis waiting right outside the main entrance of the hotel seems not refer to more than those waiting on side streets just below. The vehicles tuk tuk three wheeler also vary widely, so it may be wise to ask with quotes from a few drivers rather than taking the first one you see. The tuk tuks are a fun ride the way they should be known at least once while in Bangkok. The city also has various buses and taxis rivers, which are long boats on the canal system of the River. A great way to spend time is to take a ride on one of these taxis river cruise on the canals which some call the "Venice of the Orient".

Grand Palace is probably the most visited attraction in Bangkok. This complex is surrounded by walls built in 1783 and contains government offices, residences and monuments Royal Chapel of the Emerald Buddha. The Royal Chapel which contains the Emerald Buddha is the monarch's private chapel. The Buddha himself is is a single piece of jade sitting on top of a golden altar. This is not a large Buddha but it is very special. Apparently, they changed clothes Buddha who is also in gold on a seasonal basis. There are many monuments on the grounds that are dedicated to past monarchs. Walls with large mythological scenes are exposed everywhere. The buildings and monuments in the Grand Palace were very striking colors including golds and greens. gold is much, and curved roofs typically Thai on buildings are very detailed. Equally impressive are the interiors of these buildings with their magnificent rooms and rooms used for ceremonies and events. Some of these rooms have special royal altars.

A temple not to miss is Wat Pho is the temple of the reclining Buddha. It has a large reclining Buddha on the side. Even the soles of the Buddha closely detailed plans. Other temples in Nice to see are Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) and Wat Benchamabophit (Marble Temple). The Wat Pho temple has traditional Thai massage service which are very popular among tourists. Other temples such as Wat Mahathat and Wat Thai massage Parinayok also available. the royal barges or boats feature that are used during ceremonies on the river are also nice to see. The details put into decorating these boats are just remarkable.

For the wildlife enthusiasts, there's Pasteur Institute Snake Farm where poisonous snakes are fed daily and visitors can watch the managers milk cobras for their venom. It is also the world's largest Crocodile Farm. The national sport of Thai kickboxing can be seen at two different stages of Bangkok. Both stages Ratchadamnoen Lumphini and different events throughout the week on different days. Thai traditional dance and theater are very interesting to regard as a cultural entertainment. These can be seen in the halls as well as some of the best hotels in the city.

Bangkok opportunities good shopping, especially for jewelry, handicrafts and textiles including silks and cottons. As in other places in Asia, the vendors in the streets be expected to price negotiations where retail stores have fixed prices. Like Hong Kong, Bangkok has many custom tailors who can make suits, shirts and dresses for clients within 24 hours. Some will even delivery of finished garments to the hotel for free.

There Here are some general guidelines of etiquette in Thailand that should be followed by all visitors. The Thai royal family is revered in this country so no outsider should ever make slightly negative remarks about the monarchy of the country. Temples should not be registered unless be covered with long pants or a skirt. shorts and shoulder tops are not permitted in temples. Footwear is always removed before entering in a temple. Images and statues of Buddha, even postcards, are considered sacred in Thailand so you should never get on one or do anything which indicates a lack of respect. Public Displays of Affection between men and women are also frowned upon. Of course, it seems a complete contradiction with the red light districts of Bangkok and famous adult entertainment such as Patpong. But this is another example of the contrast found in Thailand.

Attractions in Bangkok justify spending several days in the city before heading to other parts of Thailand where there is much less pollution and more beautiful natural landscape. Bangkok has good air links with other Asian destinations so it can be easily integrated in a larger tour of Asia.
